"The new independent art foundation focuses on supporting Angolan artists through a platform for dialogue and exchange within Africa and internationally; the function provides a space for artistic research, production and critical discourse through its residencies, collections and educational projects, having as its epicenter a creative center in Luanda", reads a statement sent to Lusa.

The residency program "is open to all emerging Angolan artists and the selection is made by a professional international and local arts committee following the opening of applications", he adds, explaining that the program will welcome eight artists per year, in four sessions of two to three months, welcoming two artists at a time.

"The foundation hopes to add an important space to the Angolan art scene, aimed at the international scene," stated the founders, cited in the statement.
