Covid-19: Angola reports 136 more new cases and 109 recoveries

Angola recorded 136 more infections with the new coronavirus and 109 patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, announced the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda.

Of the new cases, 94 were reported in Luanda, 12 in Cabinda, 10 in Cuanza Sul, nine in Cunene, six in Benguela, three in Uíje, one in Malanje and another in Zaire, aged between 2 and 72 years.

The disease was diagnosed in 79 males and 57 females.

Another 109 people were considered recovered from the disease.

In total, 12,816 cases of covid-19 have been reported in Angola, of which 308 deaths, 6026 data recovered and 6472 active, including 11 cases in critical condition and 14 serious.

178,192 samples have been processed to date, 1622 of which in the last 24 hours, with a daily positivity rate of 8.4 percent.
The covid-19 pandemic caused at least 1,263,890 deaths in more than 50.9 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a report made by the French agency AFP

In Africa, there are 45,609 confirmed deaths in more than 1.8 million people infected in 55 countries, according to the latest statistics on the continent's pandemic.

Among the Portuguese-speaking countries, Angola records 308 deaths and 12,816 cases, followed by Cape Verde (100 dead and 9419 cases), Mozambique (99 dead and 13,892 cases), Equatorial Guinea (85 dead and 5102 cases), Guinea- Bissau (43 dead and 2419 cases) and São Tomé and Príncipe (16 killed and 962 cases).
