In the last 24 hours there have been two more deaths, one in Cuando Cubango and another in Malanje, a man and a woman, aged 80 and 89, respectively.
Franco Mufinda said in the daily epidemiological balance that 149 cases were detected in the province of Kwanza Sul, where a screening was carried out at the Instituto Médio dos Petróleos, 56 in Luanda, 11 in Benguela, seven in Lunda Sul, three in Namibe and Huambo, and one in Cuando Cubango.
The classes at that educational institution will be temporarily suspended, added the Secretary of State.
The infected are between two months and 89 years old.
Another 397 people were considered recovered from the disease.
Angola totals 11,035 cases, including 286 deaths, 4920 recovered and more than 5,000 active, with 16 critically ill and 29 severe.
A total of 1,812 samples were analyzed, out of a total of 159,367 to date.
The covid-19 pandemic has already caused almost 1.2 million deaths worldwide since December last year, including 2544 in Portugal, and more than 46 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.
In Africa, there are 42,869 confirmed deaths in more than 1.7 million people infected in 55 countries, according to the most recent pandemic statistics on the continent.
Angola registers 286 deaths and 11,035 cases, followed by Cape Verde (95 deaths and 8848 cases), Mozambique (93 deaths and 12,988 cases), Equatorial Guinea (83 deaths and 5083 cases), Guinea-Bissau (41 deaths and 2413 cases) and São Tomé and Príncipe (16 deaths and 944 cases).
The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
