German Embassy in Angola promotes painting competition in times of pandemic

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Luanda decided to get down to work and try to carry out cultural projects in times of pandemic.

:

For this, the embassy, in collaboration with the association Animar and Dom Bosco, decided to create a creative watercolor painting contest.

In a statement sent to VerAngola, the embassy explained that 61 street children took part in the contest, who since March have been sheltered "at Casa Margarida and Casa Anuarite homes in Sambizanga and Cazenga de Dom Bosco".

With the motto 'My Angola', the children had two weeks to express their Angola on a cardboard.

The painting materials were made available by the embassy. In addition, the initiative was supported by the artist and volunteer of Animar, Débora de Deus.

In an attempt to exemplify to the children what the contest consisted of and also to inspire them, "the embassy began the period of learning and creation with the presentation of 'their Germany'".

The contest was successful and 89 paintings were born from the initiative, which will be exhibited in the São Paulo Church Auditorium, Luanda.

The exhibition will start on Monday, November 9th, and will remain on exhibition until November 21st. Those curious about the paintings can do so from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 4 pm.
