"The conversation was very good. The moment served to inform the Head of State about my difficulties and the work I have done towards the development of sport in the country", said the athlete, in statements to the press after the hearing, cited by Angop.
Demarte Pena also said he was collaborating with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to hold a fight in the country, during the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Angola's independence.
According to a brief note from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, Pena also showed the trophy he recently won in the United Arab Emirates.
"The award-winning Angolan sportsman took advantage of the moment to present President João Lourenço with a trophy recently won in a competition in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates", says the note.
It is worth remembering that last week, Demarte Pena was received by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão, to whom he also presented his gold medal.
