In a statement, Deloitte said it had launched the 11th edition of the PACT Fund, which supports projects in the areas of education, employability, entrepreneurship and environmental sustainability, with applications open until the 18th.

In the last ten editions, the PACT Fund has supported the Paróquia of Santo Estevão, in the province of Benguela, with the "Life Project: I also want to study, can you help me?".

"Through the PACT Fund and the help of Deloitte mentors, the aim is to reduce the low level of education of children, adolescents, young people and adults in the region, with the expansion of a school in the community of Kapululu-K'Ovava", the statement said.

The PACT Fund also promoted the construction of new classrooms, which are currently fully operational, enabling access to education and impacting more than a thousand people in this community in southern Angola.

"However, Deloitte's involvement goes far beyond monetary support, with each project being allocated a group of Deloitte mentors who, on a voluntary basis, closely monitor the entities, supporting them in achieving their impact objectives", the note highlights.

After the closing of applications on 18 October, the PACT Fund evaluation committee, made up of professionals from different Deloitte business areas, will analyse and select the projects and institutions to be supported, taking into account elements such as the impact and viability of the project or the innovative nature of the approach.

Deloitte's goal is to have a positive impact on the lives of 100 million people by 2030, through the projects it supports with the PACT Fund programme, in the areas of education, employability, entrepreneurship and environmental sustainability, in Portugal, Angola and Mozambique, the countries where applications for this 11th edition are taking place.
