According to a statement from the provincial government of Malanje, to which VerAngola had access, the main event will be held at the Arena Palanca Negra Pavilion and will be marked by the inauguration of a polytechnic institute, with capacity for 20 classrooms and a boarding school.
"The infrastructure will be inaugurated on 11 November, in allusion to the 49th anniversary of national independence, whose main event will be held in the province of Malanje, at the Arena Palanca Negra Pavilion", the statement reads.
In addition to the inauguration of this infrastructure, the note adds, as part of the celebrations, an agro-industrial fair and a show will also be held.
"In addition to the institute, the 49th anniversary of national independence, in the province of Malanje, will be marked with an agro-industrial fair, as well as the holding of a musical-cultural show", the statement says.
According to Franco Mufinda, quoted by Jornal de Angola, the main event is expected to attract around 3000 people.
The academic project was named after José Eduardo dos Santos, as a way of paying tribute to the former President of the Republic, and this infrastructure is expected to offer technical courses in sectors such as civil construction, electricity, as well as others unrelated to the Malanje Agrarian Institute, writes Jornal de Angola.
According to the provincial vice-governor, this infrastructure, in addition to the 20 classrooms, also has laboratories, a multipurpose field, etc., and efforts are currently underway to equip the institute, with mention being made of the arrival of 800 desks.
According to the provincial government's statement, the meeting was held to analyse the "state of preparation for the event".
"During the session, the governor highlighted the importance of the date for the country and asked members of the government and the committee created for this purpose to be more involved so that the date is celebrated with the importance it deserves," the statement reads.
In addition to the festivities of the country's 49th anniversary of independence, the session also served to assess the "contingency plan against the rainy season, operational and criminal situation in the province, where some measures were implemented to counteract these situations," with the council members also being informed about the "updating of the specialist training of doctors in Malanje; plan to ensure the festive season; alignment on the procedure for validating and treating local public debt," among others.
