Speaking this Monday in Ankara, Turkey, as part of a meeting with the Angolan ambassador to Turkey, José Patrício, the president of the National Assembly said that the "technical procedures necessary for the issuance" are currently underway.
"During a meeting with the Angolan ambassador to Turkey, José Patrício, Carolina Cerqueira stated that the process of implementing the parliamentary radio and television channel is complete, and, at the moment, is being carried out the technical procedures necessary for the emission of radio and television signals", points out a statement from parliament, to which VerAngola had access.
According to Carolina Cerqueira, the parliamentary channel will serve to "bring information to the public about the actions of deputies aimed at improving the conditions of Angolans".
It is worth noting that, as part of strengthening parliamentary cooperation, the leader of the National Assembly went to Turkey last Saturday, at the invitation of her Turkish counterpart, Numan Kurtulmus.
In this sense, with regard to parliamentary cooperation between Angola and Turkey, Carolina Cerqueira highlighted the "strengthening of the exchange of experiences, as it is a country that is a regional and international power and possesses a robust economy and dynamic development, which leads it to compete with the great world powers".
On the occasion, she also highlighted the "strong dynamics of Turkey's geostrategic policy, experience in dealing with migration issues and role as an observer member of the CPLP and OTAN".
For the president of the National Assembly, Turkey's cultural heritage is seen as an "opportunity that must be taken advantage of to bring it closer to the two peoples, taking into account the advantages that Turkey offers in the most varied fields", adding that the "reality of Turkey must serve as an example so that Angola can reassert itself in Africa".
Regarding parliamentary action, the person responsible highlighted the contribution of the Angolan parliament in actions related to "promoting peace, harmony, stability, climate security, defending the rights of women and children".
José Patrício considered it "pertinent for Angolans to take advantage of opportunities in the fields of culture and knowledge, in agroindustry", with a view to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
"The two countries have a long way to go, many similarities, and there is a need to join synergies to translate good will into concrete actions," said the diplomat, quoted in the statement.
Regarding the visit of the delegation from the Angolan parliament, the ambassador said that it is "a new cycle of interparliamentary cooperation, as the local parliament has skills in the fields of training and exchange".
During this three-day working day, the delegation's agenda included "a meeting with the president of the Turkish parliament, Numan Kurtulmus, talks between members of the two parliaments, as well as visits to the African Crafts Market and the Independence Museum, the areas bombed during the July 15, 2016 coup attempt, the Ayasofya-i Kebir Mosque (Hagia Sophia), Grand Bazaar and İstinye Park, the last three historical sites located in the city of Istanbul," the statement said.
In addition to Carolina Cerqueira, the delegation is also made up of deputies Vigílio Tyova, Liberty Chiaka, Alcides Sakala, Carla Cavita, Norberto dos Santos and the secretary general of the National Assembly, Pedro Agostinho de Neri.
