According to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic, to which VerAngola had access, the meeting will be on October 24th, at 10am.
"The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, called for the 24th of this month (next Thursday), at 10 am, an extraordinary meeting of the Council of the Republic", the note reads.
The meeting, says the document, will have "as its sole point information on the General Program of Celebrations celebrating 50 years of National Independence".
It is worth remembering that the program was approved, this Thursday, at an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers.
The General Program of the Celebrations Allusive to the 50th Anniversary of National Independence, which will be held under the motto "Angola 50 Years: Preserving and Valuing the Achievements Achieved, Building a Better Future", comprises the activities to be carried out in the country and in the diaspora, such as part of the celebrations, which begin on November 11th this year and run until December next year.
On the day that marks 50 years of independence, November 11, 2025, a speech by the President of the Republic is planned, in addition to a civic and military parade.
