Luísa Damião, who is also a deputy in the National Assembly, highlighted that João Lourenço presented an exhaustive portrait of all sectors of the country, with a strong emphasis on the health sector and its development.
"In the message about the State of the Nation we were also able to see that there are still challenges, but also many opportunities, and the President was very clear, very detailed, in all the work that is being done and which represents the commitment to the Angolans", he he said.
The speech also drew attention, according to Luísa Damião, to the appreciation of women and their potential, which since 2017 has been recording "great advances".
"The President also spoke about the energy and water sector, roads. In one word I must say that it was a message with a lot of hope, a message with a very strong commitment, in order to respond to the desires and aspirations of Angolans", he said , highlighting the work done in the field of diplomacy "very strong, very active".
Asked to comment on the protest held during the session by the parliamentary group of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), the largest opposition party, Luísa Damião declared that in a democracy it is also necessary to "prioritize ethics, parliamentary decorum and civics."
"I think that as deputies, deputies have their role of representation, their role of responding to the desires and aspirations of Angolans and that is what we should do, that is what cements our democracy, therefore, I think that deputies should continue to be guided by ethics, deontology, parliamentary decorum and carry out its mandate to fulfill its mandate", he said.
Regarding the implementation of local authorities, Luísa Damião reinforced that it was the MPLA that included this topic on the political agenda, with the President clarifying "very well" that there is a local legislative package that is in the National Assembly, which must be completed and without which elections cannot be called.
Regarding the concern expressed by the head of state about the increase in fuel smuggling and the vandalization of public assets, Luísa Damião highlighted that a law was recently approved to address this situation.
"Because if we are a country that is moving towards development, we are not the ones who should destroy what is being built," he said.
