Resulting from a private Chinese investment, which invested 12,500,000 dollars in the first phase, with the expectation of reaching around 15 million dollars in the second phase of the project, the manufacturing unit is, in this first phase, producing 1000 tons monthly.
Of these 1000 tons, 700 relate to material to produce masks and hospital gowns, while the remaining 300 tons are material to produce disposable diapers.
With regard to jobs, according to Angop, in its initial stage, the factory has 130 employees (110 nationals and the remaining 20 foreigners), equivalent to 78.8 percent of the human capital planned for the project, which is fixed at 165 employees.
The relevance of the project was highlighted by Dai Xiongwei, director of Polirock Química, who, speaking at the inauguration ceremony, also reaffirmed the commitment to training Angolan professionals.
Furthermore, he also took the opportunity to thank the government of Bengo for the support, highlighting that the manufacturing unit will be a boost for the community's growth, as well as increasing tax collection and promoting national economic development.
Maria Nelumba, provincial governor of Bengo, cited by Angop, praised the initiative, mainly for generating jobs for local youth, as well as considering that the start of operations of the aforementioned factory will encourage other foreign investors to invest in Bengo.
