In statements to journalists, cited by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), the ambassador considered that good cooperation was developing between both countries, highlighting that in 2014 they signed four agreements, including one relating to air transport.

"We have developed good cooperation between the two countries. In 2014 four agreements were signed, therefore the political consultation agreement, to establish the joint commission between the two countries and another agreement that operated for some time on air transport", he said.

Thus, he said, for some time Kenya Airways operated the Nairobi-Luanda route, but with the arrival of the pandemic the service was suspended. "For some time, we had the company Kenya Airways, which flew Nairobi-Luanda with a frequency of three times a week. Unfortunately, when covid-19 hit they stopped this service", he said, adding: "We think that today we no longer justifies that issue linked to airport taxes. Once these issues are overcome, they could return, it could even be very profitable if we did it ourselves".

According to the diplomat, the success of attracting investors from Kenya to the country is linked to visa exemption: "It is important that we implement what the Kenyans themselves consider important, which is visa exemption, which will allow Kenyan businesspeople can move to our country without difficulty", he stated, quoted by RNA.

The two countries, according to the RNA, also identified new areas of cooperation: education, health, tourism, agriculture, environment, telecommunications, maritime transport and youth and sports.

According to Jornal de Angola, the two countries will hold, until this Wednesday, after three days, in Nairobi, the first session of the bilateral joint commission aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
