Among those selected by coach Pedro Gonçalves were seven athletes who play in Portugal, namely midfielders Maestro (Benfica B), Domingos Andrade (Felgueiras), Mário Balbúrdia (Mafra), Kialunda Gaspar (Estrela da Amadora), Keliano Manuel (Estrela da Amadora), Depú (Gil Vicente) and Kadu (Oliveira do Hospital).

On the 13th, Angola faced Mozambique in a friendly match in Albufeira, which also ended in a draw, but 1-1 (1-1).

The 'palancas Negras' - like the Democratic Republic of Congo - are preparing the start of the African qualifying phase for the 2026 World Cup, the first matches of which will take place in November.

Angola is included in Group D, along with Mauritius, Libya, Eswatini, Cameroon and Cape Verde, and the first game will be against the Cape Verdeans.
