Ten years later, Alexandre Santos returns the Super Cup title to Petro de Luanda

Petro de Luanda, led by Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos, won the Angola Super Cup in football, ten years later, after beating Académica do Lobito, 1-0, in the province of Benguela.

The winning goal was scored by Brazilian striker Tiago Azulão, in the 80th minute, from a penalty, in a controversial move.

With this title, the two-time champions - who in the last two seasons under the leadership of Alexandre Santos lost the trophy to Sagrada Esperança and Desportivo da Huila, respectively, won the first trophy of the football season in Angola.

In pursuit of other trophies, this time at international level, Petro will have Esperance de Tunis, from Tunisia, as their next opponent. The draw for the group stage of the African Champions League in football dictated the meeting, placing the national champions in group C, where they will also face Étoile Sahel, from Tunisia, and Al Hilal, from Sudan.

For the group stage of the African Confederation Cup, Sagrada Esperança will play against Zamalek, from Egypt, Abu Salaam from Libya and Soar Guinea, in group B, while Académica do Lobito, another Angolan representative in the competition, is group C, with River United, from Nigeria, Club African, from Tunisia and Dream FC, Senegal.
