North Korea closes embassy in Angola

The Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea announced this Wednesday in Luanda the unilateral closure of its diplomatic mission in Angola, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX).

The announcement was made by North Korean ambassador Jo Pyong Chol, in a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António.

"Ambassador Jo Pyong Chol went to the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Luanda this afternoon to say goodbye to the head of Angolan diplomacy, stating that by decision of its capital, Pyongyang, the embassy of this Asian country in Angola is closed and that the diplomat returns to his country of origin", indicates the MIREX statement, without further details.
