In the statement distributed to the press, Anpg states that the deadline for submitting proposals is the 15th of November, in compliance with the 40 days provided by law and all national and foreign companies interested and capable of doing so can apply. .

The oil concessions entitled “Tender 2023” include 12 oil blocks, four of which are located in the Lower Congo Onshore Basin (CON2, COM 3, COM 7 and COM 8), and eight in the Kwanza Onshore Basin (KON 1, KON 3, KON 7, KON 10, KON 13, KON 14, KON15 and KON 19).

According to the statement, the estimated potential of the 12 blocks reaches 1,560 MMBO in the Lower Congo Basin and 5,440 MMBO in the Kwanza Basin, highlighting that companies submitting proposals will be selected based on proven demonstration of their suitability and technical and financial capabilities.

The new 2023 tender aims to relaunch the exploration and production of hydrocarbons in onshore areas, reassess the existing oil potential in the aforementioned basins, mitigate the decline in production, through increasing the exploration activity and discovery of new resources, stimulate the participation of small and medium-sized oil companies, as well as promoting technological innovation and good governance practices.

The president of the Board of Directors of ANPG, Paulino Jerónimo, mentioned in the statement, considered that the official launch of this competition “comes at a good time, because companies already have relevant information on the topic, which will certainly increase interest for each of the blocks in competition”.

According to Paulino Jerónimo, this competition aims to reinforce “the stabilization of oil production in the country, which has been the main objective of the national concessionaire in close coordination with Mirempet [Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas]”.
