"Three Continents, Three Oceans, a Common Destiny: Building a Resilient and Sustainable Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States" will be the motto of the meeting, in which Angola will assume the presidency of the organization for a period of three years.
At least 79 Member States from the three continents are expected to participate in this summit, scheduled for the Angolan capital, which will be the first to take place after the transformation of the ACP Group into an international organization, reports the national press.
Angolan ambassador Georges Rebelo Chikoti is the current secretary general of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, is the coordinator of the working group, created by the President, João Lourenço, for the preparation, coordination and organization of tasks related to Angola's responsibilities at the event.
João Lourenço, in his speech on the State of the Nation, on 15 October, highlighted the importance of the country hosting the 10th OEACP Summit, considering the event of "high importance" for Angola to assume the rotating presidency of the organization.
This presidency will put the country "in the international spotlight", considered the President, asking for "a collective commitment" and the "collaboration of the most varied strata of society" so that this international event is "a party for all".
