The announcement was made at the end of the meeting that Georges Chikoti held, in Luanda, with the minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António.

According to the organisation's secretary general, in office since March 2020, the meeting served to address the issues of preparation for the summit, scheduled for December 6-9, 2022.

"We were exchanging views on the modalities of preparation, [namely] the technical modalities of how we are going to prepare this summit, and we are currently all engaged to prepare this summit that will take place in 2022", he said.

Georges Chikoti, who was the head of the national diplomacy, said that at the summit Angola will assume the presidency of the OEACP.

"Summit during which Angola will have the opportunity to be the president of the organization, to lead the organization, so we were looking at all these technical modalities of how we are going to prepare this summit", he reiterated.

The secretary general of the OEACP, an organization made up of 79 Member States, created by the Georgetown Agreement, in 1975, highlighted the support that the Government of Angola has given him in the exercise of his functions, which he will occupy until 2025.

The OEACP was created to look towards sustainable development and poverty reduction in its member states, as well as their further integration into the world economy.
