Price index with a variation of 0.79 percent from August to September this year

The National Consumer Price Index (IPCN) showed a variation of around 0.79 percent from August to September this year, according to data from the IPCN's Rapid Information Sheet (FIR), released by the National Statistics Institute (INE). ).

According to the document, to which VerAngola had access, in monthly terms there was an acceleration of 0.03 percentage points while in homologous terms there was a deceleration of 1.39 percentage points.

"The National Consumer Price Index registered a variation of 0.79 percent from August to September 2022. Comparing the monthly variations (August to September) there is an acceleration of 0.03 percentage points, while, in year-on-year terms (September 2021 to September 2022), there is a deceleration in the current variation of 1.39 percentage points)," the document reads.

Zaire leads the list of provinces that, in September this year, registered a greater variation in prices, with 1.02 percent. In second place comes Kwanza Sul, followed by Kwanza Norte, with 0.97 percent and 0.92 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, Moxico was the province that registered the smallest variation in prices, with 0.62 percent. Among the provinces that registered the smallest variation, Lunda Sul (0.67 percent) and Bié (0.68 percent) stand out.

If we look at the variation by expense category, we can see that the Education class "was the one that registered the biggest price increase, with a variation of 3.15 percent". In this category, Clothing and Footwear (1.77 percent), Health (1.54 percent) and Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (1.19 percent) follow.

In year-on-year terms, the document adds, there was a variation of around 18 percent: "The year-on-year variation is situated at 18.16 percent, registering a decrease of 8.41 percentage points in relation to that observed in same period of the previous year (September 2021)".

In terms of contribution by expense categories, the document points to the Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages category as the "that most contributed to the increase in the general level of prices, with 0.35 percentage points during the month of September".

The following are the Miscellaneous Goods and Services (0.08 percentage points), Education (0.08 percentage points), Clothing and Footwear (0.06 percentage points), Health (0.05 percentage points) and Furniture, Household Equipment and Maintenance (0.05 percentage points).
