Covid-19: Angola with over 214 cases, 13 deaths and 64 patients recovered

Angola recorded over 214 cases of covid-19, 13 deaths and 64 patients recovered, in the last 24 hours, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the National Directorate of Public Health.

Cases were identified in Luanda (170), Huambo (11), Cuando Cubango (nine), Benguela, Zaire (six each), Namibe (four), Cabinda and Uíge (three each) and Huíla (two), aged between 5 months and 88 years, 123 males and 91 females.

During this period there were 13 deaths, eight men and five women, between 42 and 97 years old, and 64 people, between 2 and 82 years old, were considered recovered from the disease.

The laboratories processed 2922 samples by RT-PCR and the cumulative points to 1,053,557 samples.

In total, Angola has 61,794 cases, of which 1642 deaths, 50,041 recoveries and 10,111 active.

271 patients are hospitalized and 94 people are in institutional quarantine.

Covid-19 has caused at least 4,853,570 deaths worldwide, among more than 238.15 million infections by the new coronavirus registered since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the most recent report by the Agence France-Presse.

The respiratory disease is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, detected at the end of 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China, and currently with variants identified in several countries.
