Authorized expenditure of 3.4 million dollars to audit the 2020 accounts of oil companies

The President, João Lourenço, authorized expenditures of 3.4 million dollars and formalized the opening of the simplified contracting procedure for auditing the tax returns and accounts of oil companies for the year 2020.

João Lourenço states, in presidential order no. 174/21 of 19 October consulted this Friday by Lusa, that 50 percent of said expenses must be paid in foreign currency at the exchange rate of the day.

The company Deloite & Touche is the entity in charge of carrying out a consultancy service in auditing the tax returns and accounts of oil companies in this period, within the scope of the opening of the simplified contracting procedure, in light of a contract signed in 2020 with the General Administration Tax (AGT) in Angola.

According to the law, the audit work carried out by the said company in relation to the fiscal years of the oil companies of 2018 and 2019 are already completed and "it is pertinent to the performance of the audit for the fiscal year of 2020".

The Minister of Finance, Vera Daves, is delegated competence, with the power to subdelegate, to verify the validity and legality of all acts carried out within the scope of the aforementioned public tender procedure for the execution of the aforementioned contract.

The Ministry of Finance, refers in the dispatch, "must ensure the availability of the necessary financial resources for the implementation of the referred contract".
