Domingos Lopes, Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities, who received the group in Luanda, said that the journey of the 42 pilgrims from Israel, who had stopped in Egypt and Ethiopia, to the country was monitored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the Secretary of State, quoted by Jornal de Angola, this action was coordinated with the Angolan embassies in Egypt and Ethiopia, which guaranteed support and protection throughout the journey, even in the face of difficulties, such as long car journeys and unforeseen routes.
In turn, Nelson Cosme, Angolan ambassador to Israel, reported that the process was guided at the highest level by the Angolan authorities, highlighting that the embassy acted from the beginning, having coordinated with entities at the local and regional level, ensuring compliance with the security protocol.
The person responsible for the group, Ernestina Matias, said that they had frequently received messages and calls reporting on the safety of the route, and also highlighted the importance of the faith and perseverance shown by the pilgrims, writes Jornal de Angola.
