Congolese diplomat insults and destroys cell phone during inspection in Angola

The national authorities announced that a diplomat from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), called in on an operation to combat illegal immigration, in the province of Lunda Norte, has given offenses against the agents and destroyed a mobile phone.

In a clarifying note, the provincial delegation of Lunda Norte of the Ministry of Interior says that dozens of illegal immigrants wander through the streets of the cities, neighborhoods, markets and villages of that region, especially those from neighboring DRCongo.

To combat this phenomenon, the note justifies, several routine operations have been carried out, including the arrest of the Congolese citizen, allegedly diplomat of the DRC consulate.

According to the document, the incident occurred last Thursday, when police forces, during the operational work of inspection and patrolling to combat illegal immigration, in the municipality of Chitato, questioned the referred citizen, highlighted in Dundo, capital of Lunda Norte.

The authorities stress that the citizen, when identified, presented a copy of the card assigned by the consulate, and was then invited to accompany the agents to the command post with the Migration and Foreigners Service, in order to assess their migratory situation. .

“The citizen in question, suddenly rose up, uttering injuries and contempt against the agents, in a clear demonstration of disrespect for the authorities and, when she arrived at the command post already enraged, the supposed Congolese diplomat broke her own cell phone and, in a continuous act, he threw himself on the floor, a fact that caused his arm to sprain, an action that was filmed by his countrymen in the same condition, who witnessed such behavior ”, describes the note.

After being contacted by the consul's legal representative in Lunda Norte, he assured that he knew the diplomat in question, who was later taken to his residence, where the forces of order confirmed his identity through the original documentation, and was immediately released.

The provincial delegation of the Ministry of the Interior in Lunda Norte urges, in the note, foreign citizens to comply with the migratory rules and procedures, carrying with them the original documents and to avoid affronts and disrespect when they are questioned by the agents of the authority in fulfillment of missions that aim establish public order.
