Country registers 203 new cases and exceeds the 10 thousand covid-19 infection barrier

The country registered four more deaths and 203 new infections by the new coronavirus, now adding the country 275 deaths and 10,074 cases, health authorities announced this Wednesday.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, of the total cases in the last 24 hours, 167 were registered in the province of Luanda, 25 in Benguela, 10 in Uige and one in Lunda Norte, being 117 men and 86 women, with ages ranging from five months to 84 years.

Data on the deaths of two men and two women, between the ages of 60 and 86, indicate that they were all registered in Luanda.

At this time, the country registers a total of 6106 active cases, 11 of which are critical, 31 severe, 141 moderate, 426 mild, and 5494 asymptomatic, with 612 patients being followed up at treatment centers.

Health authorities have also indicated that 46 patients have been reported as recovered, now totaling 3693.

In the last 24 hours, the laboratories processed 2031 samples, of which 203 were positive, pointing the cumulative RT-PCR to 150,914 samples processed to date, of which 10,074 are positive, showing a positivity rate of 6.7 percent.

The covid-19 pandemic has already caused more than 1.1 million deaths and more than 44 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
