Movimento "Sou Dessas" offers 50 breast cancer screenings to Angolan women

The movement "Sou Dessas", created by the Angolan stylist Rose Palhares, will offer 50 breast cancer screenings to Angolan women. With the motto "I'm one of those who cares", this movement intends to "sensitize Angolan women to the importance of early diagnosis in breast cancer prevention".

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               :

The campaign, developed in partnership with the BNI Bank and the Isabel Fançony Clinic, will offer 50 screenings to women "who are part of the risk group, and who otherwise would not have the means to resort to a specialized assessment.

The designer, cited in a statement sent to VerAngola, explains that with this campaign wants these women to "protect themselves and be ambassadors for the prevention of breast cancer with their families, friends and in their communities.

According to figures from the Angolan Institute for Cancer Control, about 300 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in Angola every year. "For lack of information, many women arrive at hospitals too late and most of the patients, in fertile age, end up dying with the disease, leaving the families destitute," the note adds.

"October is a very special month, because it is worldwide dedicated to the prevention and combat of breast cancer, a disease from which we can defend ourselves and fight early, in a very simple way, and which, if not identified early, kills about 2 million women around the world," stresses Rose Palhares.

With this project "we wanted to do a set of actions that would reach women who are real. Something that was beyond a simple attention call in store, or even online, channels for which we created a t-shirt and a mask, allusive to the Pink October, both in pink, with the brand of the movement Sou Dessas, which aims to raise awareness of our customers for this drama, and the need to unite around the prevention and combat of breast cancer," he added.

To participate in the screening is very simple, the selection of candidates is being made on social networks. If you are interested in participating you just have to go to the Instagram pages of the brands Rose Palhares (@rosepalhares) and Rose Palhares Ready-to-wear (@rosepalharesreadytowear).

Then the applicants "should send a private message containing their name, telephone contact, and a brief explanation of the reasons for considering the need for this screening", indicates the note, completing that applications must be sent by October 30.
