According to a note from the Ministry of Tourism, to which VerAngola had access, this year, the celebration will be held under the theme "Tourism and Peace".
"Under the motto 'Tourism and Peace', Angola celebrates World Tourism Day on 27 September", the note reads.
In this sense, the Ministry of Tourism and the provincial offices of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports will promote "a series of activities throughout the country, including the inauguration of hotel developments, tourist itineraries, excursions, workshops, webinars and cultural events".
Although World Tourism Day will only be celebrated next Friday, as part of the celebrations of this event, the Ministry of Tourism started a Training Seminar on Tourist Reception, with the opening taking place on Monday, in Luanda.
Speaking at the opening session, Márcio Daniel, Minister of Tourism, said that the success of tourism depends on the "hospitality and professionalism" demonstrated.
"From the first contact at ports, airports and land borders, the hospitality and professionalism we demonstrate are crucial to creating a positive experience that encourages tourists to recommend Angola as a destination again," he said.
The Minister of Tourism considered that quality service, hospitality, smiles and attention to detail can become the distinguishing factors that influence tourists to choose Angola as a tourist destination.
According to Márcio Daniel, the sector intends to promote training activities on reception, with a view to equipping professionals and others involved in receiving tourists with the necessary tools to ensure a quality reception that complies with safety and legal standards, as well as promotes well-being, respect for cultural diversity and empathy.
On the occasion, the minister considered that agents of border posts have a crucial and decisive role in the tourism sector, since they are the first to interact directly with tourists.
The seminar runs until September 25 and is "in line with the first objective established in the National Tourism Promotion Plan (PLANATUR)", which aims to develop "actions for technical and professional qualification in the field of tourism and hospitality, applied to reception agents and other participants in the tourist reception process, in order to guarantee a high level of skills and contribute to the increase in tourist flow and positive projection of Angola's image as a tourist destination of excellence", states the statement from the ministry.
Regarding PLANATUR for the period 2024-2027, the minister took the opportunity to recall that he establishes five priorities for the sector he manages, highlighting the training of agents who operate in this industry.
