According to the Secretary of State, quoted in a statement from the Ministry of Public Administration, Labour and Social Security, to which VerAngola had access, the aforementioned vacancies are aimed at the National Historical Archive, the António Agostinho Neto Memorial, the Faculty of Medicine of the Agostinho Neto University, as well as the Ministries of Education, Transport, Territorial Administration, Youth and Sports.
The Secretary of State also explained that four public competitions are already underway, totalling 624 vacancies for the Data Protection Agency, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Forestry Development Institute and the Angolan Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), and also announced that in the coming days, another 800 vacancies will become available for the above-mentioned entities.
Thus, having done the math, Amélia Varela said that there are a total of 1424 vacancies for this year's public competitions, four of which are already underway and another seven will be opened in the coming days.
According to the official, the public tenders will be held through the Single Recruiting Entity (ERU), "within the scope of the Administrative Reform Process, framed in the strategy of modernizing public services".
In statements during the ninth briefing of the ministry, she also recalled that last year, the ERU "received 295,740 applications, for 2689 vacancies, available in the central and indirect public administration", and that, in the same period, seven public tenders were held, "with the registration of 325,196 applications submitted and 295,740 admitted".
"The total number of candidates admitted to the body was 2295, and of the 2689 vacancies created, 2281 candidates were filled, including 18 candidates with disabilities", the statement also reads.
On the occasion, the Secretary of State also said that a total of 408,288 employees and administrative agents were registered, of which 320,197 were from local government and 88,091 from central government.
Another topic highlighted in the briefing was the announcement that the Government is planning a 25 percent increase in the base salary for the entire public administration next year.
Among other aspects, Amélia Varela also announced the expansion of the Integrated Citizen Service (SIAC). According to the official, quoted in another note from the ministry to which VerAngola had access, "eight more units of the Integrated Citizen Service network will be built by 2027 in several provinces of the country".
This expansion, she added, aims to "bring services ever closer to citizens, as well as improve the conditions for providing services".
Staff training was another topic addressed, with the person in charge adding that "the staff training provided by the National School of Administration and Public Policies (ENAPP), in 2023, trained 23,301 trainees, out of the 20,000 planned".
