According to Angolan National Radio, the accident occurred in the early hours of Friday on the EN 230 and involved a passenger bus from Luanda's public transport company TCUL and a truck.
Witnesses at the scene said that the bus collided with a loaded truck that was parked in the area.
Images circulating on social media show the aftermath of the accident, with the front of the bus damaged due to the impact and several people carrying bags of rice allegedly stolen from the truck.
Road accidents are the second leading cause of death in the country after malaria.
