The young man, who is a doctoral student at the University of Lisbon, presented the scientific article "Assessment of the Role of the Oil Industry in the Energy Transition in Oil-Producing Countries: a literature review" at the conference, and his presentation was one of 12 nominated for this award.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas (MIREMPET), to which VerAngola, at the conference, which took place on August 26th in Greece, young doctoral students from several European and Asian countries participated, "having been nominated for the award 'Panos Pardalos Young Research Award' 12 presentations and chosen as the best by the young Angolan, MIREMPET scholarship holder".
According to the ministry's note, the 'Panos Pardalos' Young Researcher Award "recognizes the excellence of scientific work presented at the ESCC Conference and has been awarded since 2019".
Among the requirements to participate in the conference are the fact that you have to be "young researcher, be up to 35 years old and be a doctoral student or have completed your doctorate in the last three years".
