More than two million students from pre-school, primary and secondary education will attend the new academic year, whose classes start on Tuesday (September 6) and will be guaranteed by more than 200 thousand teachers, writes Jornal de Angola .
Among the novelties for this school year is the hiring of around 15,000 new teachers.
Also on the list of novelties is the construction of over 670 schools under the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), according to Pacheco Francisco, Secretary of State for Pre-School and Primary Education, quoted by Jornal de Angola.
In addition, according to the official, 5000 new classrooms are available for primary and secondary education.
Regarding school books, Pacheco Francisco made it known that there are more than 48 million manuals for distribution, recommending citizens to denounce their illegal trade, writes Jornal de Angola.
According to the Ministry of Education, the official act takes place under the motto "Transforming education to respond to the challenges of school inclusion and create resilience".
According to the school calendar, classes for pre-school, primary and secondary education begin on September 6, and end on July 28, 2023.
The calendar also defines three periods of classes for the academic year, as well as two interruptions between quarters, two weeks of interruption due to Christmas, three days for Easter and a two-day interruption due to Carnival.
