TV Cabo will be the next company to be privatized on the stock exchange

The next company to be privatized on the stock exchange will be TV Cabo. The announcement was made by Patrício Vilar, president of the Institute for the Management of State Assets and Participations (IGAPE).

Speaking as part of the launch of Caixa Angola on the stock market, the official informed that there are only three more companies left to have "a stock market index", with TV Cabo being the next to "exit".

"There are only three more companies to go before we have a stock market index, TV Cabo is on the way," he said, quoted by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA).

"TV Cabo will be privatized on the stock exchange, we are still negotiating the starting reference price for trading on the market," he added.

The president of IGAPE mentioned again that Sonangalp and ENSA will be on the list of privatizations later.

"We will also have Sonangalp later. We are still negotiating with the shareholders the issue of preemptive rights, as in all operations that have taken place to date, we had to negotiate the preemptive right, which is enshrined in the statute", he said.

He also added that, in addition to TV Cabo and Sonangalp, they also have ENSA: "we also have ENSA, which is our commitment to privatize directly on the stock exchange until the fourth quarter of 2023 and we are already acting in that direction", he concluded, quoted by RNA.

As for the stock exchange, Patrício Vilar admitted that it can be seen as "an alternative source of financing" for entrepreneurs.

"It represents the gateway not only for privatizations in the market, but also the gateway for our entrepreneurs to have an alternative source of financing and that means a lot for the privatization program. After they acquire the privatized units, they have additional funding. If the scholarship is that alternative, it is in fact a significant step", he said, quoted by RNA.
