According to the order dated 3 September and signed by the Chief of Staff General of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), General Egídio de Sousa Santos, all FAA units, establishments and bodies are now in a high level of combat readiness to avoid incidents that "disturb public order and tranquility".
During this period, security measures for the main economic and strategic objectives and State institutions, control of the movement of military columns and restrictions on the departure of military aircraft will be reinforced,
The guard and garrison service will also be reinforced and the implementation of arms and ammunition control measures will be "highly rigorous".
The document also indicates that the military police, in cooperation with the national police, should intensify auto and foot patrols in urban and suburban centers, with a view to collecting personnel and military vehicles that contravene the provisions contained in the order.
The Constitutional Court is expected to make decisions in the coming days on the electoral dispute in light of the requests presented by UNITA and CASA CE, opposition parties that do not recognize the electoral results announced by the National Electoral Commission, prior to the inauguration.
On Monday, the National Electoral Commission (CNE) announced the final results that gave a victory, with an absolute majority, to the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), with 51.17 percent of the votes, against 43.95 percent. percent of the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA).
The leaders of the two parties addressed the issue this Sunday on their social media accounts.
João Lourenço, president of the MPLA and who ran for a new term as president of Angola, said that the party took to the streets "to celebrate the victory of the penta" (the MPLA won the five general elections held in Angola), but that it awaits "serenely by the decision of the Constitutional Court".

Before, his rival and president of UNITA, the largest opposition party, had already used the same network to talk about the matter.
Adalberto da Costa Júnior said he hoped that the Constitutional Court (TC) would accept the injunction that the party had filed "so that the truth of the votes prevails and shows the Angolan people that the MPLA did not win the elections."
