The announcement was made by the Instituto de Gestão de Astivos e Participações do Estado (IGAPE), through a press release to which VerAngola had access.
"The Instituto de Gestão de Astivos e Participações do Estado (IGAPE) announces that Public Tender No. 04/22 for the privatization of 20 percent of the share capital of Mota Engil Angola, S.A. (MEA), held indirectly by the State through Sonangol Holdings, Lda., launched on April 26, 2022", the note reads.
IGAPE also reveals that the participation was granted to Mota Internacional Comércio e Consultoria Económica, Lda, for the amount of 10 billion kwanzas, "through the exercise of the preemptive right in its capacity as shareholder, as stipulated in the company's statutes".
Mota Internacional Comércio e Consultoria Económica, Lda, according to the institute, concerns a company based in Portugal, which belongs to the Mota Engil Business Group: "The awardee is a company based in Portugal, belonging to the Mota Engil Business Group founded June 29, 1946, a multinational with operations focused on the construction and management of infrastructure in the segments of engineering and construction, environment and services, concessions, transport and energy".
