IGAPE opens public tender for the privatization of 20 percent of the State in Mota Engil Angola

The Instituto de Gestão de Activos e Participações do Estado (IGAPE) launched the public tender for the privatization of shares representing 20 percent of Mota Engil's share capital. Applications for the contest – open to both national and foreign investors – can be submitted until 19 May.


"Within the scope of the Privatization Program (PROPRIV), the Instituto de Gestão de Activos e Participações do Estado (IGAPE), hereby announces that it has started the process of privatizing 20 percent of the share capital of Mota Engil Angola, S.A. (MEA), held indirectly by the State through Sonangol Holdings, Lda., pursuant to authorization granted by Presidential Order No. 32/22 of 11 February", the institute announced, in a statement made available on its website.

According to the note, the privatization will be carried out through a public tender, "in the form of the sale of shares representing the share capital, as established in the Order of the Minister of Finance, II series, no. 53 which also approves the Procedure Program and the Specifications".

IGAPE clarifies that the tender is open to national and foreign investors "duly qualified for the purpose".
