Kibabo opens 17th store. Company plans to invest 10 million in supermarkets this year alone

The Kibabo supermarket chain inaugurated, this Wednesday, its 17th store in Luanda. Located in Morro Bento, the new store is the result of an investment of two million dollars, having made it possible to employ 150 people. The CEO of Kibabo, Pedro Mateus, said that the company planned to invest around 10 million dollars in supermarkets this year, however he did not specify the amount used so far.

:

"In 2021 alone, our investment in supermarkets should be around 10 million dollars. As for the total amount already invested, it is not possible to calculate it at the moment," said the manager, in statements to Expansão.

Currently with 17 stores open, Kibabo's ambition is to reach 20 stores by the end of the year. According to Expansão, in order to reach the total of two dozen stores, three establishments have yet to be opened, located in Benfica, Patriota and Talatona.

This Wednesday, Kibabo took another step towards completing its expansion plan, with the inauguration of its 17th store.

The Morro Bento store is the largest of the chain and currently has 150 employees, with about 10 thousand different products on its shelves.

Currently employing around 1,500 people, group Kibabo was established in 2012, with its first store opening in Palanca. Since September last year, the company has intensified its expansion in the capital: in just one year the network has increased from five to 17 stores.

The Kibabo network also has plans for 2022, intending, starting next year, to expand to other provinces.
