Carlos Morais elected best triple player in Afrobasket 2021

The trophy for the best triple player of Afrobasket 2021 was awarded to Angolan Carlos Morais. The athlete achieved this feat with 19 converted throws from 6.75 meters.

In a brief publication on its Facebook page, the Angolan Basketball Federation revealed that, in addition to winning the title of best triple-double of the competition, the Angolan was also considered the third best scorer of the event, with 16.8 points per game: "The Angolan Carlos Morais won the trophy of best triple-double of the competition with 19 converted throws from 6.75m, in addition to being the 3rd best scorer of the event with 16.8 points per game."

The federation also stressed that, the most valuable player of the 2013 Afrobasket continues to show that he is a "puzzle for rival defenders, saving his best for when his team needed it most", in this case in the quarterfinals against Senegal, a game in which he scored 28 points, including six triples "that almost catapulted Angola to victory".

"Congratulations Carlos for another great tournament in your incredible career and we are eternally grateful for your delivery, dedication and spirit of patriotism when you wear the jersey with Angola on your chest," congratulated the Angolan Basketball Federation.

Carlos Morais, with 1.93 meters and 91 kilos, currently wears the jersey of Petro de Luanda and is a reference in the basketball world, highlighting the fact that he was elected the best player of the Afrobaskets in 2007, 2009 and 2013.

Remember that Angola, eleven times champion of Africa, was removed from the competition in the quarterfinals, after losing 74-79 to Senegal.

Afrobasket 2021 took place between August 24 and September 5, in Rwanda, with Tunisia winning this year's title.
