Covid-19: Angola with two more deaths and 360 cases of infection in the last 24 hours

Angola has recorded 360 more cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections since the pandemic began to 51,407, as well as two deaths and 94 recoveries from the disease, the health authorities' bulletin said.

Of the new cases, 188 male and 172 female, aged between 6 months and 80 years, 190 are from the province of Luanda, 99 from Benguela, 17 from Huila, 16 from Cabinda, 15 from Huambo, 15 from Namibe and one from Lunda Norte.

In the same period two deaths were reported, of women aged 22 and 69 years, and 94 recoveries from the disease.

Angola counts since the beginning of the pandemic 51,407 confirmed cases of covid-19, which resulted in 1360 deaths and 45,507 cases of recovery from the disease. The country reports 4540 active cases, of which 26 are in critical condition and 53 in severe condition.

A total of 3444 samples have been processed by RT-PCR and the cumulative count is 952,428 tests.

The African continent has recorded 635 more covid-19-associated deaths and 29,875 new cases of infection with the disease in the last 24 hours, according to data from the African Union Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).

According to the Africa CDC, with these new figures, the total number of cases in Africa has risen to 8,081,985, while the number of deaths now stands at 204,660 and the number of people recovered from the disease rises to 7,385,885, up 36,243 from the previous day.

Covid-19 has caused at least 4,646,416 deaths worldwide, among more than 225.72 million infections by the new coronavirus recorded since the start of the pandemic, according to the most recent assessment by Agence France-Presse.
