Vaccine against covid-19 becomes mandatory as of this Friday

As of this Friday, the covid-19 vaccine becomes mandatory for all public and private employees and employees of defense and security agencies. The measure, which is part of the new presidential decree on public calamity situation, also dictates that it is mandatory for this group to present the respective vaccination certification.

According to Angop, in order to ensure the welfare of all, the entities may request the presentation of proof of negative tests to employees who have not yet been vaccinated.

The institutions, both public and private, should release their workers on the days of vaccine so that they can be immunized without any problems.

In addition to the requirement for public and private employees, and those of defense and security agencies, the measure also establishes the obligation to present the vaccine card for people of legal age when making inter-provincial trips.

Recently, the Minister of Health, Silvia Lutucuta, said that this is an appropriate measure, taking into account the low adhesion of citizens in the vaccination posts created in the country.

However, according to Angop, on Thursday, it was registered a great adhesion by the citizens to the vaccination, namely in Cacuaco. Some posts were flooded, a scenario that repeats itself this Friday in Viana, where long queues are being generated.
