Covid-19: Angola begins issuing vaccination certificates

The national authorities are already issuing the vaccination certificate to all people who have full doses of the covid-19 vaccine, the Health Ministry announced Monday.

The guidelines can be found on a website provided by the Angolan health authorities (https://www.vacina.gov.ao), where registration and personal identification numbers should be entered and the document can then be issued.

Angola began its vaccination campaign on March 2 of this year, having so far administered 2.1 million doses, of which 1.9 million were for the first dose, 782 thousand for the second dose and 144 for a single dose.

The vaccination process in the country is being carried out with AstraZeneca, Janssen, Pfizer, Sputnik V and Sinopharm vaccines.

The country has recorded to date a total of 48,656 confirmed cases, of which 3521 are active, 1270 have died, and 43,865 have been recovered.

Covid-19 has caused at least 4,560,565 deaths worldwide, among more than 220.27 million infections by the new coronavirus recorded since the start of the pandemic, according to the most recent assessment by Agence France-Presse.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected in late 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
