According to a statement from the ministry that VerAngola had access to, the meetings served as an antechamber to the work of the technical teams in October for the last evaluation of the program. This will be the sixth and final evaluation of the Expanded Financing Program.

It should be recalled that, in the fifth evaluation, the IMF approved the disbursement of US$772 million, having also praised the national authorities for the adoption of the program's policies, last June.

At this Thursday's meeting, Vera Daves also met the World Bank's vice president for Africa. The meeting served to assess the project portfolio, new financing possibilities and technical assistance with a medium and long-term perspective.

"The recent assessment by the rating agencies deserved a positive reference from the parties, confirming the work on fiscal consolidation", says the ministry, cited by Mercado.

In the afternoon, the head of the Finance portfolio met with the Executive Director of the Constitution of the African Group of the IMF, Ita Mary Mannathoko.

"During the meeting they addressed the macro-economic situation and how the constitution can continue to support the design of measures, drawing on the experience of several countries in the region, many of them with an economic structure and similar challenges", adds the ministry.
