The inauguration of the project, which will have the participation of more than 53 photographers from over 30 countries, will take place on September 18, and the project will be open until December 18.
According to Expansão, Januário Jano will participate with the series "Ilundu", which includes a total of 24 photographs. However, not all of them will be exhibited at Vantage Point Sharjah, since each participant will be symbolized by a set of one to six photographs.
The project will reward artists in the areas of conceptual, experimental, photojournalism and documentary, and staged photography. The prize will be, for the first time, a cash prize of one million and five hundred thousand dollars.
The winners will be revealed on opening day, Saturday, September 18.
Starting September 18, the Angolan artist will also participate in a public sculpture in Viseu, Portugal. Next month the artist heads to London for a performance at Goldmsiths CCA.
