PR completes Economic and Social Council with six more members

João Lourenço appointed six new members to join the recently created Economic and Social Council, with whom he completes his staff, totaling 46 people.

According to a note from the Presidency of the Republic, João Lourenço appointed Arnaldo Lago de Carvalho, Filipe Zau, Raul Mateus, Isaías Domingos da Cunha Mateus, Piedade Valentim de Fátima Pena and Delma Monteiro by dispatch.

The "new space for dialogue with society" had been announced by the President of the Republic in May, at a meeting in Luanda, with representatives of civil society to assess the impact of covid-19 on companies and families.

The space aims to allow João Lourenço to receive "contributions from the business community, from cooperatives, from the academic scientific community, from associations that deal with the socio-economic development of women and young people, thus ensuring their more active participation in aspects of programming and execution of national development tasks ".

The new members will join 40 others appointed Monday, including economists Carlos Rosado de Carvalho, Precioso Domingos, Yuri Quixina and Manuel Alves da Rocha, businessmen from various fields such as Pedro Godinho Domingos, José Severino, Manuel Sumbula and Domingos Vunge, environmentalists, such as Vladimir Russo.

In another order, the head of state dismissed the secretary of state for land transport, Guido Cristóvão, appointing Jorge Bengue Calumbo instead.

The President of the Republic also exonerated, at his request, Rosa Jorge, from the position of executive administrator for the administrative and human resources area of ​​Imprensa Nacional, Public Company, appointing Graciano Francisco Domingos for the post.
