European Union provides 20 million dollars to Angola to strengthen the fight against covid-19

The European Union (EU) will make 20 million dollars available to Angola to help fight covid-19 and diversify the economy. The revelation was made this Tuesday by Foreign Minister Teté António.

According to the minister, this money adds to the 10 million dollars the country already has in its possession to buy protective equipment and thus combat the effects of the pandemic in the country.

Teté António, who was speaking on the sidelines of the 5th Angola-European Union Ministerial Meeting, under the "Joint Path" program, also said that now the next step is to work towards making this support effective, Angop said.

The holder of the Foreign Relations portfolio also said that it was agreed to hold a forum of European and Angolan businessmen and the signing of an investment agreement.

The meeting also discussed the fight against EU money laundering, which includes the fight against corruption in Angola.
