It is the third time that this consultation organ of the President of the Republic has met to discuss the topic, after the May and March sessions, “all preceded by important decisions by the head of state, with a view to halting the spread of the new coronavirus and reduce the impact of covid-19 on the lives of Angolan families and the national economy ”.
The Council of the Republic includes the Vice President of the Republic, the President of the National Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Court, the Attorney General of the Republic and leaders of political parties with parliamentary seats and other invited entities.
This Tuesday the 30-day term of the last presidential decree ends with measures related to the situation of public calamity due to the covid-19 pandemic, including a health fence in Luanda until 8 September.
Angola currently has 2981 cases of covid-19, of which 120 deaths, 1215 recovered and 1646 active, with four people in critical condition, 19 serious and 48 moderate.
