The new cases were registered in Cabinda (2), Benguela (1), Zaire (3) and Luanda (53) and are aged between 1 and 79 years, said the minister during the daily epidemiological review to update data on covid-19.

The Minister of Health appealed for the correct use of the mask by the entire population, in particular salespersons and taxi drivers, an appeal reiterated by Adão de Almeida, Minister of State and Head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic, who stressed that the lightening of measures does not mean no risk of contagion.

Adão de Almeida clarified that the use of face masks remains mandatory on public roads, closed spaces, markets and public transportation.

The covid-19 pandemic has already caused at least 898,503 deaths and infected more than 27.6 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a balance sheet made by the French agency AFP.

In Africa, there are 31,701 confirmed deaths in more than 1.3 million people infected in 55 countries, according to the most recent statistics on the pandemic in that continent.
