The Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, in the epidemiological balance in the last 24 hours, said that two men, 61 and 64 years old, and one woman, 65 years old, all died in Luanda.

According to Franco Mufinda, of the total cases in the last 24 hours, 27 males and 21 females, two were reported in Zaire province, the same number in Cabinda and the rest in Luanda, aged between 2 and 67 years.

It was also announced the recovery of 31 people, making a total of 1115 patients given as recovered, 1550 active, of which five are critical, under invasive mechanical ventilation, 14 severe, 36 moderate, 48 mild and 1447 asymptomatic.

Franco Mufinda appealed to the population not to devalue the common symptoms of covid-19 and other existing diseases in the country, namely malaria, such as headache, fever, loss of taste and smell, joint pain and tiredness.

"Patients with hypertension, diabetes, obesity, drepanocytosis, kidney and lung diseases and others as risk factors, we call on these patients to redouble their care in terms of health," he said.

On the other hand, 290 infected people are in the different treatment centers in the country and the rest observe home isolation.

As far as the laboratory is concerned, 413 samples were processed in the last 24 hours, 48 of which were positive, indicating the cumulative to date, based on molecular biology, of 58,081 samples processed, of which 2777 were positive.

According to Franco Mufinfa, the test has already been done to 1641 taxi drivers in the municipalities of Cacuaco and Viana, of which 61 were reactive.

"On Friday we will continue in the municipalities of Kilamba Kiaxi, Icolo and Bengo e Belas to conclude the process of testing the taxi drivers," said the Secretary of State for Health, explaining that the photograph is a sample and not the population, estimated at just over 40,000 taxi drivers in Luanda alone.

"Logistically it is of sample and not of the population, everything points to the fact that in the next few days we already have the laboratory in Luanda with the capacity of around 6000 daily tests," he said.

The pandemic of the new coronavirus that causes covid-19 has already caused at least 857,824 and infected more than 25.8 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a balance made by the French agency AFP.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December in Wuhan, a city in central China.

After Europe succeeded China as the center of the pandemic in February, the American continent is now the one with the most confirmed cases and the most deaths.
