To be built in the Cuito Cuanavale commune, the future primary secondary school will initially accommodate more than 1000 students.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Education, which VerAngola had access to, in addition to 12 classrooms, the school's infrastructure will also include laboratories, a library, and other amenities.
"The school, which will be built in the Cuito Cuanavale commune, will have 12 classrooms, laboratories, a library, a cafeteria, and a multi-sport court, initially serving a total of 1080 students in two shifts, significantly contributing to expanding the educational offerings at this level in the region," the statement reads.
In statements at the ceremony, the Minister of Education highlighted the "importance of the infrastructure," stating that it is "a modern, inspiring, and fully equipped school, which will be prepared to accommodate students in the first cycle of secondary education, and is therefore an unequivocal testament and irrefutable proof of the Government of Angola's commitment to the education sector."
"This infrastructure is part of the Girls' Empowerment and Learning for All Project (PAT2), implemented by the Ministry of Education, with funding from the World Bank, and is part of the package to build 56 new schools throughout the country," the ministry's statement further stated.
