According to Luísa Grilo, who was speaking to the press on the sidelines of the 12th Conference on Teaching and Learning and the 14th Round Table of the African Federation of Education Regulatory Authorities, which runs until this Friday in the province of Huíla, this number of schools, with 12 classrooms, is necessary.
Luísa Grilo, quoted by the Angop agency, highlighted that the current school year had 80 new schools, totaling 12,627 schools across the country.
The governor stressed that there is also a shortage of teachers, estimated at more than 60 thousand professionals, a number that will undergo an update process to assess the student-teacher ratio.
The country's Education Minister considered being a teacher in Angola to be a “difficult task”, due to the difficulties faced by students in assimilating the knowledge transmitted.
“It’s a shame that we don’t look at teaching as the profession of professions, because no one graduates without it, therefore, it should be more loved, more valued”, said Luísa Grilo.
