Games will be held on the morning of the 12th, and after the opening ceremony, we will have the match between Angola and Libya," said Mário Rosa, spokesperson for AFROLOC, in statements last Friday during a consultation meeting with the organization.
Quoted by Angop, the official clarified that official communications regarding the resolution of the matter calmed both the national and international communities, so the delegation from Cape Verde arrived on Friday, while the DRC was already in the country at that time.
The organization's commitment to the delegations participating in the event begins next Sunday, according to the spokesperson, explaining that those arriving in Angola before that deadline must assume their responsibilities.
According to the official, cited by Angop, the participants have been organizing themselves and are in communication with the organizing entity to ensure they arrive in the country within the established deadlines.
Afrobasket 2025 will take place between August 12th and 24th in the country. The competition will be divided between two provinces: Luanda and Namibe.
Luanda, specifically at the Kilamba Pavilion, will host Group A and B matches, while Namibe (Welwitschia Mirabilis Pavilion) will host Group C and D matches.
Angola is in Group C, along with South Sudan, Guinea, and Libya.
