Economists, politicians, government officials, businesspeople, and Angolan nationalists are expected to participate in the thematic panels of this third edition of the AEF, from August 27th to 29th, which is expected to feature more than 70 speakers, revealed Mona Sambo, communications and strategy manager at PetroAngola.
According to the head of PetroAngola, a consulting firm specializing in oil, gas, and energy that co-organizes the event with Kwanza Economic, the forum will analyze eleven topics related to the economy, health, and education.
Speaking to Lusa, Mona Sambo announced that Angola's Minister of Planning, Vitor Hugo Guilherme, will open the AEF-2025, whose themes will focus on Angola's 50th anniversary of independence, to be celebrated on November 11, 2025.
"We have a theme that opens the first day of the event, which is 'Angolan economy from the perspective of nationalists,' where we will feature Isaías Samakuva (nationalist and former president of UNITA), Lucas Ngonda (nationalist and former president of the FNLA), Ismael Martins (nationalist, diplomat, and member of the MPLA), Justino Pinto de Andrade (economist and member of parliament), and Augusto Caetano João (economist, professor, diplomat, and nationalist)," she emphasized.
For Mona Sambo, these figures "are people we believe possess the knowledge and can impartially chart the future that Angola needs."
Health and education are also topics that will be discussed at this meeting, which is also expected to feature interventions by former Vice President Bornito de Sousa and former Prime Minister Marcolino Moco.
"We will reflect on Angola's 50 years of independence from an economic perspective and also project the next 50 years. Our themes will focus on the past, present, and future of the Angolan economy, seeking solutions that can be implemented in the future," he emphasized, noting that reports and recommendations to government authorities will be prepared at the end of the event.
"We Celebrate History, We Drive the Future of the Economy," alluding to Angola's 50 years of independence, will be the motto of the AEF-2025.
